LATEST NEWS:

CONGRATULATIONS TO JUNIOR RACER VINCENT TESTA FOR HIS RACE OF CHAMPIONS WIN

14 year old Vince Testa of Mullica Hill NJ just returned from the NHRA Northeast Division One Championships where he was winner of the "Race Of Champions." The race is held once a year and is only open to the top racers from each track in the division. Vince is the track champion representing Old Bridge Raceway park. He out drove the best drivers from 15 other racetracks from 5 states and Canada. He now has the honor of being the "champion of champions" beating out all of the other track champions in the division.

Vince has been driving a Junior Dragster since he was 8 years old and drives at speeds up to 85 MPH. He has won numerous awards over the years but this is the first time competing in this race. He is thankful to his dad for being his crew chief and teaching him how to drive his race car to winning status on a regular basis, as well as Half Scale Dragsters (chassis builder)  and Fred Craw of Craw's Racing (engine).

This is a family hobby that the entire Testa family participates in. Vince's younger sister, 11 year old Nicole, also has been driving a race car since  she was 8. Together, Mom, Dad, Vince, Nicole, and the family dog (Pumpkin) travel up and down the east coast to races throughout the year. "Our neighbors think we're crazy, but it's a great activity that keeps us together as a family" says the father. "The best part of it is I know where my kids are on the weekends, who they are with, and what they are doing. It's where they want to be. With us... together as a family. You can't put a price tag on that!"

CONGRATULATIONS TO OUR 2010 MOTORCYCLE/SLED KING OF THE TRACK CHAMPION: BOB CARLSON

Bob Carlson, of Torrington, CT, earned a Wally at this year's Motorcycle/Snowmobile King of the Track event, which was held on July 11th.  Congratulations Bob!

CONGRATULATIONS TO OUR 2010 KING OF THE TRACK CHAMPION: BOB MACLOSKY

Bob Maclosky, Jackson, NJ, raced his ’07 Race Tech dragster to a Manley Performance Products Super E.T. event win which qualified him for the NHRA 2010 King of the Track event, where he earned himself a Wally trophy and King of the Track title on June 20th.

“My worst light of the day was a .024 and I ran dead-on my dial six out of eight rounds.  Five out of the six rounds that I went dead-on my dial I was not under full power.  It felt great because I had not been driving so well this year,” said Maclosky.

During the two-round eliminator, Maclosky defeated Pat Barbone and Brian Mullaney.

Maclosky had the advantage as the quicker car and had a better reaction time over Barbone in the first round, pushing Barbone under with a 10.264 e.t. (10.28).  Maclosky ran a 7.516 e.t. (7.51).

In the final round against Mullaney, Maclosky was .016 against Mullaney’s better .009 reaction time.  On the top end, Mullaney hit the brakes a bit too hard and gave Maclosky the win.  Mullaney ran an 11.800 e.t. (11.77) against Maclosky’s winning 7.509 e.t. (7.50).

“It was one of those days where I drove very well on both ends of the race track.  I hit the tree well and drove the finish line extremely well,” recalled Maclosky of his first King of the Track championship.

Maclosky thanked his Wife Kerri, Denny, Dennis, Mom, Jackie and Eddie Pardun.

OLD BRIDGE TOWNSHIP RACEWAY PARK AWARDS 2010 NATIONAL DRAGSTER CHALLENGE WINNERS

Joe Seibert, Steven VanCraeynest, Brian Mullaney, Bob Carlson and Rob Farley earned themselves NHRA Wallys and 2010 NHRA National Dragster Challenge Champion titles for Old Bridge Township Raceway Park on May 30.

Seibert, driving his ’07 Race Tech dragster, defeated Lenny Catalanotto in the Manley Performance Products Super E.T. final.  Seibert pushed Catalanotto’s ’72 Plymouth Duster to a 10.933 e.t. breakout (10.94 dial) while he ran a perfect 7.200 e.t. (7.20).

Mullaney drove himself to two final round appearances and defeated current track points-leader Bill Hakucsa during the Street E.T. final.  Mullaney’s better reaction time against Hakucsa gave him the advantage on the top end of the drag strip for a safe 11.844 e.t. win (11.81) over Hakucsa’s close 11.524 e.t. (11.50).

Mullaney fell short of two category victories for the day when he was defeated in the Liftec Forklifts Pro E.T. final by VanCraeynest.  VanCraeynest, driving his newly built ’94 Camaro, made the smart decision to let Mullaney take the stripe and earned the win when Mullaney broke out with an 11.813 e.t. (11.82) to VanCraeynest’s 9.442 e.t. (9.44).

In the Motorcycle/Snowmobile eliminator, Carlson’s consistently dialed ’08 Kawasaki ZX14 motorcycle earned the win light over Tony Pasquale in the final round.  Pasquale had a .006 reaction time but the bike slowed to a 10.771 e.t. (10.64).  Carlson ran a 9.552 e.t. (9.54) for the win.

Farley earned his second Top Street win and first National Dragster Challenge Champion title with a 10.081 e.t. (10.05) over Chris Cassidy’s -.001 breakout.  Cassidy ran a close 10.329 e.t. (10.33).
